What kind of tree does this sound like?

Hey ya'll,
I live in southwest Georgia and I am looking for a tree I've seen around here. It's not common but I've seen several, mostly in the yards of houses built in the 60's and 70's. I have reseached the families I think it could be but none of the pics seem to match up. It looks a lot like a hemlock, which doesn't grow down here. I thought it might be some kind of cypress but it is not deciduous. It has a lacier, softer look than the pines I know, not really weeping but kind of droopy. It's built like a pine with branches not close to the ground. It's some sort of conifer. Anybody got any ideas? |

| Red cedar? Very common here in several forms. |

| How about a deodara Cedar or possibly a Cunninghamia? |

| Thanks! I had already chosen those two as possibles. Drat, I wish Hemlocks would grow here. You always want what you know you can't have! |

Thuja occidentalis perhaps? Cryptomeria? Post a pic on 'name that plant' - we'll ID it for you. There are some fine conifers that will grow in your area, so please don't 'pine' too much for the hemlock. |
