Ligustrum Easter Freeze

Posted by twizzy sc (My Page) on

The Freeze over Easter week-end made my ligustrum leaves turn dark green and then in one week every leaf fell off on 18 bushes. Will the leaves come back or did the frost kill the plants? Also, my needlepoint hollies also lost a lot of leaves with the freeze.

RE: Ligustrum Easter Freeze

If your ligustrum was healthy it will come back. It might take several weeks, but it's a fairly hardy shrub.

If you are under drought conditions as a lot of places are, the new growth may be delayed even longer without additional water.

I really don't know about your hollies, but as long as the branches are flexable, there's probably life in them.

Good Luck!
