Construction delays have lead to discovery

in the downtown/midtown Savannah area. I have passed numerous large blooming lantanas, several blooming tropical hibiscus, and today, I noticed a cassia blooming its yellow head off...which surprised even me. My lantana got burned, and my hibiscus defoiliated, but my cassia stayed green...but blooming at this time of the year? I'll have to go home and check mine for buds! All of the above stuff was unburned, and could not possibly have put on the amount of growth this spring yet unless they went through the winter undamaged. There are obviously some very nice microclimates in Savannah...as the recorded low in Savannah this yeat was 23...which would have burned all of the above had they actually experienced them.
