| Hey, i live in iowa, but i'm going to move to south carolina. In the south, what plants are wild (plants that you would usually find in garden centers)? When i went there, there were mimosas, wisteria, and magnolia. |

| Yes, those plants are found in the wild. Also, wild persimons, hickory, maple, oak, pine, dogwood, a zillion other things that you can find in a nursery, are in the wild. That doesn't mean that you can easily transplant them into your garden, if that's what you mean. Some things just need to be container grown. |

| Not sure what you are asking. Do you mean what plants are NATIVE to the southeast? Or what plants will do well in the south? What part of SC are you moving to? The climate range is quite broad. FYI, the wisteria that you see so commonly in the south is almost always Chinese Wisteria....something of a thug. It is considered a SEVERE threat on the invasive species list. Also, Mimosa is non-native, as well, and is considered a SIGNIFICANT invasive tree species. If you are more specific regarding your location and your interests, then we can be of more assistance to you. I lived in SC for over 20 years and have some great web sites I can lead to you. |
