Sweetpea photos

Finally, my sweetpeas are opening lots of blooms. I was expecting them to put on more of a show, with longer vines and larger flowers. Naturally, I'm thrilled with them as they're starting to really bloom, but I know they don't look like much to anyone but me.

The colors of the blooms are translucent and satiny. One whiff and I know why the Victorian gardeners went wild for sweetpeas. I'm definitely trying these again next winter.

I'd especially like to exchange a few emails with anyone who grows sweetpeas here in the Charleston area.

Here are a few photos that I took today.

Your photos are stunning!!

I have grown sweetpeas and I love the little posies I collect.
I have not had a real success with them, but neither have I given them a lot of attention in the winter months.

Interestingly, there are some planted down at the waterfront park. I passed by them and picked one and it had no fragrance!
I was disappointed!

Your seed list is inpressive!

Oh what lovely little things they are! I've bought some seeds but realized later I'd better wait and plant them in the very late fall...it's already hiting 85 here! I hope mine do as well as yours! Thanks for sharing the great pics! Pretty vases too.

Super photos of super flowers!
Where did you get the dark blue sweet peas, dixirose? I run out of blues last year and could not find a source. I need them by the fall!
