My cardboard palm is coming back!!!

I forgot to cover it one night in February and the frost hit it, all the leaves were brown and eventually all fell off. I started to dig up the bulb and throw it away, but something told me to wait, and I’m Sooo glad I didn’t trash it because the new limbs are shooting out from underneath the mulch with new soon to be green leaves and it looks as though it will be taller than it was when I purchased it last year. I am sooo HAPPY!!! Next year I will be sure to Mulch, Mulch and more Mulch. Gina

RE: My cardboard palm is coming back!!!

That is wonderful, Gina. Glad you didn't toss it too quickly. I almost did the same thing with a hibiscus that I thought was dead. I uprooted it and threw it, rootball, dirt, and all, onto the compost pile. Lo and behold, months later, I had a hibiscus coming out in leaf lying on that pile. :-)
