 o
Delphiniums

I bought a white delphinium at Wal-MArt yesterday. It was so beautiful that I could not resist.
Now, where do I put it? Full or partial sun?
Do you think it will be okay here in GA?
Thanks!

I'd put it in a spot where it gets shade in the afternoon.
Delphiniums generally don't do well in our hot, humid summers, but maybe you'll get lucky.

If you really want delphiniums, try planting them in the fall. They'll be ready to bloom when it's still cool in March and April.

Thanks, DixieRose. I figured as much. I think I will nurse the plant in the pot and try to put it in the ground in the fall. I appreciate your taking the time to reply. Best wishes, Bobbie

Yep, you sure might get lucky. I bought a few lavendar Delphiniums from Wal-mart this spring, and they not only finished their first bloom in the heat, three of them even sent up a second flush that will be starting to open any day now. They're shaded by about 2:00 every day, but get full direct sun until then. I probably would have avoided them if I had known more about their habits in the hot South, but I'm glad I didn't. :)
