Looking for blue flowers that will thrive on the coast

| I'm trying to identify a blue flower that I saw beside a beach cottage around Wilmington, North Carolina. Currently, all the searches I've tried pull up waaaay too many choices. It would be a great help if anyone could list blue flowers in your garden....

| It might be helpful if you gave a bit of a description of the plant that you saw. Was it a spiked flower, for example? |

| Try Agapanthus, commonly known, I believe, as Lily of the Nile. I have had some luck with Angelonia and Plumbago. |

| Spiderwort growes wild, and some folks have it in their gardens. Grows about two feet tall and has sort of garlic like leaves. |

| We live in Florida, about 1/4 mile from the ocean, and have been growing something called "blue wonder." I believe it has other, similar names. It's a low-growing plant, but truly beautiful with large numbers of blossoms. We're still getting beautiful flowers in mid July, but plants that didn't get plenty of water have not survived. | I second plumbago. Also, salvia guarantica (black & blue) and bog sage. |

| I am 50 miles from the coast but blue plumbago is a great plant and survives everything so far. |

| Maybe Stokesia or Stokes Aster. It may not make it in your zone, but since it's near the warmer coast.....who know??? |

| I live at the beach and have had success with Blue Daze, plumbago, and salvia. |
