Crape Myrtle Victor Question

Hello everyone, I recently bought a Victor Crape Myrtle (about a month ago) and was wondering if, as it grows, can you make it look more like a small tree form instead of shrub? This is my first crape myrtle and I knew I was buying a dwarf but didn't realize it was a shrub type. I really like it but didn't know if you could train it to the tree form? I'd appreciate any help/ideas you can offer!

All Crepe Myrtles tend to sucker. Keep the suckers that sprout out from the base removed and te main trunk will be strong. let the suckers grow and a clump will form
