Looks like the Gulf Coast will get hit by Bonnie....while there is a 1 in 4 chance that Charley will hit Savannah and a 1 in 4 chance it will hit JAX.....Peabee can you pist the link to the probablilties chart again? If not, everyone can go to the Florida Gardening forum...and under the thread titled "Hurricane coming your way" you'll find a link to it.

Here it is. We have to keep in mind that the probability of being "hit" ranges all the way from a drizzle and some breeze to the really bad stuff.

We always watch the storm tracking and possibilities to see if we want to listen to the TV weatherdorks and run for higher ground or decide if the path will merely include us on the edges.

Here is a link that might be useful: hurricane/storms

There's not been a leaf moving all day. Situated about a good half hour north of Jacksonville in Joeja.

Pat,

I think that's what we call the calm before the storm, lol!

Rain started here 3:30 pm. Just heard tornado warning for some counties in FL. Been hearing a constant rumble from I95, a real good ways away, especially since noon. Tampa folks I'll bet.

It's 8:15 PM here, and we have thunderboomers and a nice steady rain right now in Savannah. No wind at this time; plants are smiling at the heavens for the drink.

I got the sailboat secured this afternoon, a few provisions from the store, and tucked some potted plants away for a few days.

I need to go get the dolley out when I get home for some potted papayas.....working outside in the rain...got to love it.

I'll bet a whole lot of folks have been working in the rain, filling up the garage, staying up all nite. Had to take my deer fences down (hope their all held up cozy some place).

Having lost a house to Andrew I really feel for Floridians but I truely have appreciated these cool wet days to revamp my garden. Glad to know I have not been the only one dripping through the flora. I have been digging which I would never have done in my Kansas clay. Does it hurt to dig in the rain in the costal sand?

Doesn't hurt a thing. And after working in the garden with this kind of sand..anything else will actually seem like work. This stuff is easy! ( and out here anyway, rich and fertile)!
