Any experience with Mexican Orange Blossom

Mexican Orange Blossom--Choisya Ternata, in the Rutaceae (citrus family)
Has anyone any experience with this beautiful evergreen? I read that the deer don't eat this one. That's what I have, trouble with deer.
Also, I'm searching for a nursery that sells them. Anyone know?
Thanks, Pat |

| I don't know anything about it but I sure do like it! give it a try in them name of research and then let us all know how it did! I noticed an alternate name listed is Mock Orange and I do have a Mock Orange that belongs to the Philadelphus (sp?) group which does well but is not evergreen. |

We have them here on Wilmington Island but the best specimens I've seen are on Tybee. The variegated ones seem to get scale-at least the ones planted at the end of my driveway by the developers. The solid green ones on Tybee are huge and smell great. I'm guessing they may be less disease-prone. Monrovia Nurseries grow them and they're available at Hester and Zipperer Nurseries in the Savannah area. |

I don't know if it will deter deer as they aren't a problem for me. For sure, you will be pleased with the leaves aroma when you brush up against them and the flowers smell incredibly delightful in spring and often in fall. Ankrara's Hobby Corner
