Hi everyone. I was looking up "how to grow parsnips in the south" and stumbled across this forum. I can't believe I just found you. But then, I don't usually look things up, I just go for it and learn from my mistakes. Anyway, I live in extreme south Alabama, about a mile from the Gulf of Mexico. My yard (all yards here actually) was just white sand when I moved in but with lots of labor, a strong shovel and compost, I now have two good beds. One is 7' x 15' and one is about 5' x 18 ' I think. I also have a "patch" about 3 x 3 and have four GrowBoxes. I use the boxes for things I want to make sure come up since I don't have great luck getting seeds to germinate when sown in the garden directly.

I just wanted to introduce myself and say I'm glad to be here.
