Help! Planting Leyland Crypress!

I've got six leyland crypress trees, 7 ft tall that are balled, burlaped and wired. The balls weigh in the neighborhood of 300LBS and are real bear to move around. My question, in planting these can the wire basket be left on?

RE: Help! Planting Leyland Crypress!

After digging the properly sized hole, place the plants- basket and all-in the hole. Then, remove all straps, ties, and ropes. Cut away the top third of the basket with wire cutters, then cut away and remove the top third of the burlap.

Please review the attached planted guide. It is important that you prepare the hole properly for these plants, as they can be prone to root diseases if you add soil amendments to the backfill.
