When the freeze hit this weekend my tomato plants took a

rippen?
Thanks,

I put them single-layer in old beer boxes (24-can flats).Cover with a single sheet of newspaper, put them in a cool dry basement.Pick out the damaged ones, they will rot.Check them every two weeks, pick out the ripe, the near ripe, the rotten.Enjoy.

I have also put green tomatoes on the floor of my pantry in the dark and they rippened real well. I spread newspaper on the floor and placed them so that they didn't touch. We ate ripe tomatoes on into January!!!

Dancey--Have used your method for years--its the one
I learned from my parents. And people it really works--
just make sure you leave a little space between each one
and check them often!
