can anyone tell me what this is

I got these seeds from a plant I seen somewhere. it grows to about 3-5 ft tall bush type plant. succulant type stalk, with flower heads like morning glories or trumphet flower(i'm not sure)fushia-purple color. I don't know if it is a perennial or a self-seeding annual. I have seen it grow in the same place for two years. they always cut it down before it is killed by the frost or goes dormant.any help would be appreciated.

Looks like Mirabilis/Four O'Clocks to me.Hard to tell from the photo but Mirabilis remind me of baby hand grenades with the pattern they have. They must be really happy where they are growing though because they don't normally get that tall at my house. They will come back in warmer zones from tuberous roots & they also re-seed.

Indeed, 4 O'clocks. They grow from a fleshy tuber that can be dug and saved over the winter much the same as you would a dahlia or canna. Then next year, you plants will be bigger.
