Baker creek has a lot of heirlooms they have a magazine and a website rareseeds.com. Tradewindsfruitstore.com is online and they have a lot of natives and heirlooms also. Prairiemoon.com is another good one for natives online. Then you have cheapseeds.com.

There are several online resources for heirloom seeds, some send out magazines and some are just strictly online.

First off I am very anti GMO(Genetically Modified Organism) seed and am not a fan of Monsanto. That being said, no company is selling GMOs to the regular gardening public. They are sold to large scale farmers and legal documents must be signed before they are sold to the farmers.Plus they cost A LOT of money, so the average person wouldn't shell out the money to buy them.
I'm not sure where this rumor got started, but it simply isn't true. If an when does happen, I'll be the first one in line to start ranting about it.
Also, to say that Monsanto owns most of the big seed companies is complete untrue. It is another rumor that has taken hold in the past couple years. I've seen lists of companies I know are not owned by Monsanto floating around and it is sad since people may believe those lists are true and will end up not buying from perfectly good seed companies.
The retail seed companies that sell to home gardeners are not owned by Monsanto. Monsanto purchased a few major seed growing company including Seminis. Some wholesale seed sellers carry some of that product. Some retail seed companies buy from the wholesale companies. So some product carried by many companies could of gotten their start buy a seed producer that is owned by Monsanto.
The purchase of Seminis is unfortunate since it is such a large scale grower and many great non GMO products are produced by them. It makes it difficult for the retailers since those products have been sold for years before Monsanto was ever in the picture.

This is simply not true. Seed catalogs from many companies are now selling PVP Seeds and some of these are GMO. Be advised.
