Ladies Mantle and Penstemon heterophyllus

Posted by jeanne 6OH (My Page) on

I've collected what I think are seeds from these plants but I'm not sure enough too add them to my seed list. Does anybody have a good description of what they should look like or know of a picture of the seeds?

Thanks in advance,
Jeanne

Hi Sue!

Thanks for the link, I've seen that website before but couldn't find it - I'll bookmark it. I'm so glad I didn't toss out my "chaff" with the Ladies Mantle because those ended up being the seeds! I've grown P. serrulatus and those are large for Penstemons, if I recall correctly. These are in between P. serrulatus and P. eatonii which is dust-like. But they're variable in size and it makes me wonder if I haven't collected debris by mistake.

Thanks,
Jeanne

You're so welcome!

One sure way to find out...WS them and see if your 'debris' grows...lol

I 'found' the link doing a search, but now can't remember what I put in, so had best save the site too....till my computer crashes or gets emptied again.

2006 and 2007 were both very bad gardening years for me...life and terrible weather got in the way. Hopefully we can find some neat things to trade sometime in 2008.

Sue
