trying this year

This year I am going to try and collect seeds from my flowers for the exchange next year. I have never tried it before, so, can I get them dried and then, say in November/December, I can seed them indoors to see if they germinate and if they do, am I safe to say they are "good" seeds? Then, can I reuse the soil to try for new seeds? Sounds like a lot of work but I'm not that confident.

Seed saving is not usually that hard. The FAQ's on this page are alot more eloquent then me:) Alot of people use the wet paper towel in a plastic bag to test for germination. Me, I don't usually bother.
This a really cool and useful sight for seed saving, identification, etc....
