is anyone familiar with this flower? a friend's mother gave me a baggie of these, which she called needle and thread flowers. she said hummingbirds love them. the seeds themselves are small and round. any ideas of what they are? i've googled needle and thread and it is a grass...

RE: needle and thread seeds

Maybe Yucca filamentosa ? aka Adam's Needle and Thread?

RE: needle and thread seeds

Interesting name but probably not the Yucca. Adam's Needle Yucca seeds are not small or round. They are fairly large black triangular discs.

RE: needle and thread seeds

hey y'all. i identified the plant/seeds. they are chleome! i see where the 'needle and thread' name came from as after the seed pods open the remaining outline looks like the eye of a needle!
