How to save corn seed?

Looking for an easy way to save corn seeds for next year. With all of the talk going around, I am really thinking that pretty soon I will not be able to buy corn seed to grow or it will cost $20 a packet. Let me know how you do it. Thanks...

RE: How to save corn seed?

I would cover the ears with probably a mesh bag or netting so that squirrels would not have a field day with them and let the ears grow on the stalk until they dry up. I grew some corn in the city a few years ago. Didn't have a chance at all. Squirrels took them all....or was it a raccoon???
