Morning glories, I don't know about the shelf life, of, but I haven't heard that they have short shelf-lives, and probably are worth a try. Soak them for 24-48 hours before sowing. Columbines, I have read, if older, will germinate in warm without a cold period necessary (although it won't hurt), but fresh ones do. The germination rate will be lower, though, but not badly so. Be patient with them, as they do take quite a while to germinate, around a month or so, and they need light (surface-sow). The canterbury bells should still be quite good. They do last quite a while, and they shouldn't need a cold period (again, it wouldn't hurt)(Also surface show these).

pardon my ignorance, but by soak do you mean take the seeds and just dump them in a pot of water? or would I be better putting them inside a folded papertowel and soaking the paper towel and then sticking it in a plastic bag.

Ok I checked out the seed longevity chart. It still does not help me though. It only gives viability times for seed that has been kept in "IDEAL" conditions. Mine were in a box in an open barn for over a year.

Morning Glories should be fine....read somewhere that they can have a shelf life of upwards to 50 years or so....could be a myth, but worth giving them a whirl...
Soak overnight in warm to hot water...they will plump up and start splitting...pop them in the soil and then keep them moist...(might cover them with vented plastic for a few days) until they pop out of the soil.
Or soak them, then direct sow them in the ground...keep them watered until they surface.
