A seed pod will need to fully ripen on the plant to be viable. A transplant while any plant may have blooms or buds or even seed pods on it is risky. A plants energy is being used to produce the blooms or seeds and when it is transplanted the roots actually go in shock therefore the plant may go in overload trying to exert energy to balance the shock of the root disturbance and to produce the seed.

If you love the plant I would still try it if that was the only option of saving it. Heck I know I have tried alot of different unrecommended things while trying to save plants. Just baby it, transplant it to somewhere it doesn't have full sun or afternoon sun. Fair amount of water when first transplanted and a few weeks after. It may take a few weeks for the plant to let you know if it survived the transplant just keep an eye on it and even if the plant goes totally limp don't give up on it. Good luck!!!
