Christy, were the pods a dried papery brown when you collected them? Are they from last year?

The nice thing about MGs is that they germinate in just a few days and you will have your answer. Throw a few in a pot and water them well. If they are viable, and I think they are, you will have sprouts in about 3 days.

They were dry and papery, but I didn't collect them until a few days later. Then, it had rained for days in a row, and they were kinda soggy. They seeds just smushed in my fingers. So, I waited a few days, and they were drier. I put them in an envelope, and just put them away. Maybe I'll pull one out and plant it to see if it grows. Thanks! Christy

Yup, try a little experiment. I'm concerned about the mush. You know, the great thing about growing from seed is the excitement of experimenting. Let us know how your project works out.
