Both actually because you should not be saving seed from fruits of plants that are disease ridden or stunted or prone to insect attacts over one that are not.
With that said, it depends on what you want. Greatest yield, earliest fruits, compact plants, frost resisance or biggest fruits (you still need healthy plants however).
