Heliconia seed collecting

hibiscushoney

I just harvested some heliconia carribea seeds, I think. At first I collected a purple color seed, but perhaps it was too early, too fresh, then I realised how the seeds look later after they dried (on the flower) a bit. So I collected some of those too. Does anyone know if they need to dry more, or do I need to cut them open a bit, anything like that. Any sort of seed saving or germinating advice would be extremely appreciated. thanks!
