Brilliant plan? Or silly?

So...I'm saving seeds from various flowers and drying chamomile here in VA. It has been WET and I don't have a good drying rack or dehydrator. It's been either wet or very humid all summer and I don't want things to mold...so...why can't a dry my seeds (with some newspaper in between) on a seed propagation mat?

I think this might be brilliant, but go ahead and tell me what might go wrong here. Seems like it would provide the heat I need to drive off moisture without the danger of getting too hot.

How long should I leave them, do you think?
