| Hi! I collected seeds from my baby's breath the other day. It took a LONG time to pick up the seeds from the fluff. I finally got frustrated and threw fluff and all into my seed envelope. Does it hurt the seeds to be among the fluff for storage? Is there an easier way to collect these fine seeds? If it's ok to leave the fluff, is it ok to just plant them with fluff and all next year? I'm enjoying collecting seeds for the first time this year, but the fine seeds of baby's breath got the best of me. LOL! Thanks in advance for any info. |

| The fluff won't hurt anything IF it too is completely dry. Many fine seeds get re-planted fluff and all. But with fine seeds I find It helps to thresh the fluff wads in a ziplock bag and then, using a fine sieve tea strainer or similar sift the seeds from the fluff onto paper. That way most all the fluff remains in the strainer and the tiny seeds will just fall thru. Good luck! ;) Dave |
