My nicotania are starting to form seed pods now. They start at the bottom of the stalk, and where each flower used to grow, a little 'nub' (not sure of the technical term) remains, and eventually it will dry out and open up. This is the pod. Inside each pod are a lot of the tiniest seeds! Funny how the smallest seeds produce the biggest plants. Hope that helps.
They are like fairy dust and so cute when they sprout. On my white nico, the pods are somewhat sticky and the dust will stick to your hands. I would advise snipping the pod with a little pair of scissors and dumping the dust into a baggie or bowl for further drying.
I have three kinds of nico growing this year and I love them all! Have fun.
