I just as a lark stuck some 2006 scarlet runners beans in the ground and they sprouted - shocked

I find storage is a key factor in bean seed viability. I keep my bean seeds in the freezer to lengthen viability and to prevent insect damage.

Runner bean seed keeps well. I just leave mine in a jar in the kitchen until next year.
