Coreopsis Moonbeam Seeds...where?

are they the narrow black things at the base of the pod or the curved black things stickingout of the top? I think it's the first cause the second crumbles when smashed, but the first does not.

Nettasaura, it is my understanding that coreopsis 'moonbeam' seeds are steril...and therefore there is not point in collecting seeds. I think other varietys are viable but not moonbeam. Sorry, Sue

This is my first year with moonbeams, I was also trying to find out how to/ when to collect the pods, there seems to be a lot of different moonbeams out there I just thought I'd ask if it's the moonbeam vines that are sterile?
