Agastache died-can I still collect seed?

My agastache died this summer, I believe because of root rot. We had so much rain! It's still bloomed well and now there are spikes of brown flowers. Will it be possible to get seed off this plant? I cut off the dead stems before I trashed the plant.

The only way you'll get seed is if the plant had mature seeds before it died. Look deep into each flower for the seed.

Sometimes mine look dead, too, but will pop back up. I try to leave them in the ground and just cut off the dead stuff above ground.
