columbine, cone flower, and daylily seeds

Hi-

I have all these seeds right now, and I wasn't sure how to save them. If you just let them "go" naturally, then the plant will naturalize and reseed itself, correct? I ended up taking some of these seeds and just sprinkling them around, since they had already dropped. Will they (even if only 25%) come up next year? Or should I take the ones I've saved and store them somehow until next year?

I saw a thing in a magazine- store them in a plastic baggie in a dry warm place. Thoughts?

Columbine and Coneflowers can and usually reseed by themselves. Never saw a Daylily do it but I don't see why it wouldn't. Seeds sown haphazardly also germinate haphazardly. Mother nature will take her share for the bugs and animals and some will rot. That's why we gather them, so we can have more control over how well and where they grow.

If you bring the seeds in, keep them in an open container (bowl or cup) for a couple weeks to dry. Put them in an bag or envelope and keep them in a COOL, dry, dark place until you are ready to sow them.
