The orange pods you mentioned are the fruit of the plant. You can harvest seed off them if the birds don't get them first. I've never bothered trying since the darn stuff is so pernacious and sets a million bulblets off the mother underground.

When the fruits are orange, they are ready, and should fall off easily. The seeds have a rather short storage life, so you should either sow them ASAP, or keep them in their fruits until you're ready to sow them. When you take the seeds out, make sure you wash them thoroughly before sowing (I've read soak and daily rinse for seven days), as the fruit contains germination inhibitors (so they don't sprout in the fruit) that need to be washed off. The fruit juices may also be irritating to some people's skins, so be careful when handing them.

those orange "berries" can burn you when crushed. put them in a baggie and don't handle with bare skin.

Thanks Magus and inthegarden_k I will be carefull and wear gloves when I take the seeds out of the orange berries. I have even found one that is the Dragon Arum, so that might be fun to try.

Please, I beg you don't start these plants in your garden, they will take it over, I've been fighting these plants for years, even round up don't kill them.. and they stink I mean really stink bad...they have taken my yard over, and I can't get rid of them, they are the Devil's PLANT.. So if you plant them, don't say you weren't warned!
