In this photo you see green, yellow-brown, and white puffs. The white are ready. The seeds look like shuttlecocks you hit back and forth in the game of badminton.

Ditto, however, it's a good idea to check and make sure the seeds are viable. At the end of the shuttlecock the head should be hard where the seed is. If it's flat, no go.

The seeds should remove easily.
