Ruth, the seeds are in the swollen end of petals where they are attached to the core of the flower head. They don't look like much, just a small teardrop shaped thickening inside the papery sheath. Commercial seed sellers cut the "tails" off and discard the rest of the material, but I just sow the whole thing.
