Hi I am new to this also. I started using excel. I dont have a template and i keep rearranging my columns. I can tell you what i do have them named. I have Common Name, Botanical Name, Color, Height, Light requirements,How seed obtained (t for trade, p for purchased, c for commercial seed pack), When it can be sown, and Special Instructions. Seems like there may be another column in there but i cant recall it right now.

I do this too. One other thing that I do though is to color code my entries by the time the seeds flower. That way I can have a longer flowering season.
