Gerbera daisy,which is the seed?

I have taken apart the dry seed head and now I'm not sure which is the seed.I have a tiny feather like thing that tapers down at one end and has a tiny tan stick attached.On some of these are a dark looking stick that is coming out of the open end of the feather looking thing.Which one is the seed.I have no pic.sorry.

The tiny tan stick is the seed. The fluffy white part is what helps the seed travel in the wind, on an animal's fur, whatever. The dark thing you're talking about could be a dried up portion of a petal-- the colors darken a lot when dried. I have some gerbera daisy seed taken from red flowers, and the bits of petal fragments are black.
