I have traded for that seed & remember the seeds had feathery ends. You might pull one, & see if there is a black or dark seed at the other end of the feathers.
I also read in one of my seed starting books that seeds with feathery tufts have a shorter viability. I do not know that this applies to all feathery seeds, but I found it interesting.

That is indeed the seed. They fly all over, and you will be blessed with many Mexican Flame Vine, which is a good thing, as far as I am concerned.

This vine will also root from cuttings, layer root, and multiply before your very eyes with no help what-so-ever. I love it!
