Any ideas for what these plants are?

My name is Jenny and I am addicted to collecting seeds.... :)

I have found a wonderful source for seeds, the local library's garden. Unfortunately I discovered it after some of the flowers were done and only seed heads left. I cannot pass up the opportunity to collect the seeds, even if I don't know what they are for!?!

I've posted over in the name that plant forum, but at this point it's more like name that seed head! I'm hoping that some of you may be able to help. Here goes.

1. I think this may be blackberry lily, only it is pretty tall:

2. No clue what this is. I don't recognize the foliage or the seed head:

Thanks in advance. Once I figure out what they are I'll be able to share them!!! :)

Jenny

Blackberry lily grows easliy from seed, this everyone knows. However, when you're planting hybrid seed you never know what the results will be. The top plant looks like it fits the bill, Blackberry lily when grown from seed may reach 3 foot in height.

Your second photo looks like a hardy hibiscus to me.
