Heliophilia Longifolia seeds

Hello

I purchased the above plant this year and saved some
of the seed pods. It is tough to remove the seed from the seed pod. Any suggestions ?

Blue Flax seed pods, once well dried, can be split open with a sharp knife and the seeds removed (they look like small apple seeds) but the pod needs dry totally till brown and hard, preferably on the plant so the seeds will mature.
