marigold seeds

My marigold plants are loaded with blooms. None of the seed heads are ripening or turning brown and we are close to our first frost. If frost kills the plants before the seed heads ripen, will the seeds be viable? I read mary max's post about "killing frost" but my situation is a bit different in that the seeds haven't started to ripen at all.

Thanks,
Barbara in Virginia

Some seeds will continue to ripen after picking; depends in the plant.

Not your marigolds. If you want seed from them, you need to dig up a couple and bring them inside in pots to allow them to finish up. You'll get a LOT of seed from each blossom.
