| My luffa harvest is just beginning to come in and I wanted to save some of the seeds for next year. My question is, why are the seeds that come out of my harvested luffas white, while the ones I planted were black? Is it that the luffas are too young? Or that the seeds I planted were treated somehow (they were from R.H. Shumway). Should I be concerned about saving the seeds?
Thanks in advance! |

| I would guess that the seeds that are white are immature. If you have not harvested all of your luffas, I would hold off a while yet before harvesting another one, and seeing then if they have matured to a dark color. I have only ever seen the dark, maybe almost black looking luffa seeds. Sue |
