Since regular quince are botanically in the rose family like apples and pears are, I'm going to assume the flowering quince are a relative of the regular quince which puts them in the same family. If I'm correct, the seed needs to stay moist in the fruit until ready to plant. When I trade key lime seeds which are seeds thst also need to stay moist, I take them out of the fruit right before I mail and wrap in moist paper towel which I place in a small baggie. I then instruct the trader that they must plant immediately. For quince I would also tell them that the seed should be winter sown. I'm assuming they need a cold period like other fruit seeds in the rose family.
Oh and hacking them out of the fruit is you own problem, lol : )

I bought me a handy dandy $80 deer skinning knife a couple of years ago (I was told if I was gonna do it myself, then I needed a good knife and I got one just like my 'instructor's...which was a nice fit.)

I feel confident that knife will handle it with ease.
