How to save cantalope seeds?

Hello,

I want to save the seeds from a cantalope that appeared in my yard this summer (appeared in my strawberry bed, no idea where it came from but it thrived!)

I've never saved seeds before and I'm not sure what I need to do to them to keep them?

I had the cantalope in the fridge for quite a while, this won't affect the seeds will it? What do I need to do after removing the seeds from the fruit?

The frige has no effect on the seeds. Wash them when you cut the melon and use a strainer under runing water to wash off the membrane or just dry them as is on newspaper which will absorb any moisture. Then just store them dry in a bag and lable them.

I threw some cantalope seeds along witht he rind in my flower bed this summer and had cantalopes all summer and they were very sweet!!! But smaller than the orginal but I didn't fertilize them
