Aster Purple Dome seed question

I have several Aster Purple Dome plants that are finished flowering and the flower heads are fluffing out like a dandalion, sort of. I'm assuming that this is the seed. The fluff and seed (if it's seed) is really small. Do I have to do anything special to them to collect and store them.

Hi,
What you are seeing is seed. There will be fluff with the seed attached. Seeds can be small. Some plants in the aster family sometimes have unpollinated seed mixed in with pollinated seed. If you can't tell especially since the seed is small, you should oversow, or if trading give a larger seed amount to compensate.
