I believe open-pollinated dahlias will cross - when I list mine, I say what variety or color it's from (e.g., "Dahlia from Collarette Dandy"; "dahlia, from a red flower"). I don't know what the percentages are that will resemble the parent. In your own case, even with small types, if you can successfully dig up & save the tubers, you will get the same colored flowers next year.

I will list them like you do... good idea.

I do dig up the tubers already... managed to store them successfully first time last year, after trying for 4 winters.
But I would like to get some of the other colours of this variety too... just for the fun of it, you know ;-)
