Can anyone tell me how to harvest seeds from begonia's. I read about it on a website but didn't understand what it was saying. My begonia's have finally froze and drooped. I'm so sad that they are gone. This is the 3rd year that my begonia's have came back. I know that they are only an annual, but they seem to be pretty protected where they're at.

RE: Begonia

Hi! I received a pink begonia from my grandmother two years ago. After the first frost it was barely alive, but I brought it inside and divided it into a few different pots. To my surprise, it continued growing and blooming inside throughout the winter- they actually make beautiful house plants!! I tried saving what I thought were seeds, but could not get them to germinate. I ended up trying cuttings- and those worked very well! Just trim the plant and place the cuttings in water- I used a clear plastic cup and put it on my window sill. In about 2-3 weeks they had roots and were able to be transplanted into dirt. You could do this a few weeks before spring and have plenty for outside borders or containers. Good luck!!
