Phlox in part shade

Are there varieties of garden phlox that will perform in part shade? I have a black walnut tree that shades my garden for half the day, and phlox are supossed to be Juglone tolerant. Any advice would be helpful.

Look for the woodland type phlox, P. divaricata, stolonifera or subulata or hybrids of these. These all tolerate quite a lot of shade but are lower growing, more mat-like groundcover types. Garden phlox, P. paniculata, will tolerate partial shade but will be less leggy and more floriferous in full sun.
