Shade from a fence/which veggies ?

Once the row of corn, potatoes, pretty much anything...reaches the shade area from the fence, the plants grow much slower and sometimes don't produce. This is a fence bordering the sth. side of the garden casting an aprox. 5 feet of shade into the garden. I want to change the direction of the rows and grow some shade loving or tolerent vegetables in that 5 ft. of shade. Can you name a few that would do well in an OR. zone 7-8, lots of rain, valley location? I really appreciate you folks. thankyou.

There are not many vegetable plants that will produce very good with shady conditions. Your spot may grow some nice late season lettuce. My uncle always had a nice crop of pumpkins when growing in filtered shade.
Does this part of the garden get full sun at midday when the sun is overhead?

Thanks for your responce. Yes, there is reasonable sun midday, but you can sure tell where the shadow of the fence was...the plants are half the size. Any other comments would be much appreciated...Rick
