I have a full shade area that is moist and gets no direct sun. It is in the corner of the house on the north side. I have tried all the local greenhouses and only found one fern that they said could handle those conditions.

I got a catalog from K. van Bourgondien & Sons, inc. and they sell a number of plants that "supposedly" would work there and have looked on this forum for the names of your recommendations to others. I just have never purchased any perennials from this company or any other for that matter.

Has anyone bought from them? Were you happy with what you got? Or maybe, do you have any other catalog that you would recommend that sells the type of plants I need.

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Don't waste your money!
I have ordered from them twice and received inferior plans/bulbs. Most never came up and those that did, were very tiny plants and didn't bloom until the second or third year.
Check GardenWatchDog for comments about inferior merchandise and extremely poor customer service.

Lots of plants will grow under those conditions and many ferns lead the list. Hostas would be a close second. Try some of the larger, better known online sources - Bluestone Perennials, Plant Delights Nursery, Heronswood, White Flower Farms - if local suppliers do not offer. Naylor Creek is my first choice for shade loving plants - great selection, excellent customer service.

Hi: Yes, I ordered beautiful PINK daffodills from them last fall. They were bought specifically for my granddaughter's grave. I was so disappointed to see last week that they came up yellow and white, with two being some shade of brownish pink. I called them yesterday and got transferred around until I finally hung up. Terrible customer service. But I'm going to try again tomorrow. K
